Questions and Answers

For a project that is more than 10 years old, I felt it’s overdue for me to make this. The simple reason why I do not like to make “FAQs” or something similar is because I prefer my content, which is the comics, to be the upmost important. I even avoid the idea of even having a personal website for a long time because, again, I prefer my projects to be more important than me.

Either way, I’m doing this now, and I now have a personal website.

Story

What is your webcomic about?

To answer without giving too much spoilers, the story is really about four groups and how no matter what they are after, they’ll end up bumping into each other and chaos ensues.

The groups are bounty hunters, specialists, bodyguards/escort, and exterminators.

As of now, only one group is introduced awhile the second group will be next (you may have already seen a sneak peek from the 100th webcomic upload.)

What’s with the characters’ names? Why are they short?

They are inspired from Thai nicknames.

Content

Are there any expected date for the new webcomics?

No, you’ll have to follow my Mastodon page to see any updates.

What is there to expect from your works since you have a mature warning?

There will be: Blood/gore, violence, dark humor, bad language, drugs/alcohol, sexual situations.

In regards of the sexual part, no nudity, and if there ever was, I’ll end up having it either having objects covering up and/or “camera focused at the face than body.”

Do you upload your webcomics elsewhere?

No. There is too many reasons why I don’t, but to put it simply: I want to have creative freedom and complete control. These mega corporations that own these webcomics platforms want control and wealth. Since I am speaking about this subject, the only other platforms I am okay with is ComicFury and DuckWebcomics because these two platforms are powered/owned by the community and not by a corporate.

However I am interested in doing the following two things: upload the updated webcomics to Archive dot org and upload my webcomics to itch dot io. Just in case one of the website goes down.

Why CC-BY-SA?

I believe that good chunk of my content that I create should belong to the people. Not towards oneself and not towards corporate. I envision people being able to adapt my works, translate, make fan content, etc. Thankfully, we have an excellent examples of this happening with David Revoy’s Pepper and Carrot. And I hope to see even more people create Free Culture content.

What is that link in the very bottom?

That is designed for either slow internet connection and/or weak hardware/software.

Inspiration

What inspired you to make webcomics?

During the early 2000s with a slow dial-up internet speed, I would discover certain fan websites of my favorite games. When I saw fan webcomics for the first time, I was impressed with the idea that you can upload content and bypass traditional methods such as books, newspaper and magazines. I knew the moment I saw these webcomics, I was set to wanting to do it myself.

Do you have a favorite webcomic artist from that time?

That will be a dark past for me as these artists who I admired either became controversial or has lost so much respect. What I learned from these artists is pretty much: don’t be greedy and don’t be manipulator. So yeah it’s sad, I can’t really answer that question.

What about favorite webcomic artist today?

Besides who I’ve listed on my support page, I’ll just make a separate page dedicated to webcomics I like.

How about favorite artist in general?

Yoshitoshi Abe, I have too many artbooks from this person. He has an excellent methods of sketching both analogue and digital. Awhile I’d love to mimic his style, he and I will always be the opposite in terms of tech, he is a long time Apple user (maybe not anymore?)

What about your webcomic story? Where the inspiration came from?

For the story, it’s odd. It really comes from my favorite video game called Phantasy Star Online. Awhile most of you will be confused by that, I’ll explain why.

It’s really idea/core concept of people with different backgrounds and languages helping each other no matter what.

Anime? Manga?

Yeah it’s the usual classic: Lain, Lupin the Third, Excel Saga, Trigun, Yotusuba

I haven’t watch anything new, but I did watch Look Back recently and I loved it.

Technical

I see a 7 year gap in your webcomics, what happen?

Procrastination. Depression. Social media platforms. Smartphones.

And then LineageOS happened and I am free now.

Okay but seriously, I want to explain in detail but I think I already did on my 100th webcomic.

What is your art supplies/hardware/software to make these webcomics?

That’ll be on my personal website.

What host service and domain registrar you use?

I have formally used HostGator as host n' GoDaddy as domain and holy cow, I’ve wasted too much money over the past decade. I even fell for their greedy traps too. Now I use Neocities and Porkbun, I am so much happier now.

How do you make this website?

Before I answer this, I actually have little to zero knowledge on coding, it’s a miraicle that I have several websites at this point. Basically if a rookie like me can do it, then you can too.

As of now, I am using Rarebit, I had formally used Poor Man’s Webcomic Publisher from Triskaideka.

How did you get the RSS feed to work on your website?

From here.

What font is used on the dialogue?

It’s my own font, I would love to release it but I don’t know how to fix the certain issues I have with certain letters. If you or someone who knows that can help me with this, I’ll be happy to release it, on a libre license of course.

Why do you only provide a preview of your webcomic rather than posting the whole webcomic on your social media?

It simply started with my early years of using GooglePlus, the platform had no issues displaying my whole webcomic until an update came. When I uploaded the next webcomic, the preview cropped, showing only the the middle of the webcomic. By "middle" I mean the bottom half of panel 2 and top half of panel 3, very awkward. This forced me to have no choice but to lead my viewers to my website by making my own thumbnail on the social media site(s) and link to the site. Trust me, you already seeing some creators doing this now-a-days!

Basically, why allow these platforms dictate what size/format we have to upload when we can go by our own rules?

How did you learn to draw? What methods?

So I started doing art ever since I was a little child, it was until 2003 I really wanted to aim for a particular stylization which is obviously Manga/Anime.

For high school I made sure all of my extra curriculum is art related. Awhile that time I have bought many How-To-Draw books. Finally, I took a few community college course classes that I could afford. I had positive experiences with the professors.

My only advices is this: If you dislike what you being forced to draw in art classes then at least learn the techniques, find out why their methods is important. In turn, you can apply those techniques into your own works. And finally, expand your way of obtaining knowledge. Now-a-days, online courses that provide a monthly fee seems to be popular now, why do that when you can buy a physical book with a one-time purchase?

Social

Where can I follow you?

Other than my RSS, it’s just Mastodon for now. Who knows I may join more decentralized networks.

Do you have a video platform like YouTube?

Sure but I don’t plan to upload anything there anymore, unless I can find a PeerTube instance that I can join.

Do you livestream on places like Twitch.tv?

I’ve quit streaming on Twitch years ago because of lack of improvement on the platform and because it’s owned by Amazon. I know it’s off-topic but I haven’t bought anything from Amazon for years.

Services/Support

Do you do commissions?

Sorry, no. Maybe if it’s open-source / free-culture related … maybe?

Where can I support you?

For now, it’s Libreapay and Ko-fi.

Where can I contact you?

Just Mastodon for now.
