Copyleft

GreySky webcomics are licensed under a copyleft license.

For more than a decade it was under CC BY-SA 4.0 Int.

However, the organization responsible for making these licenses, has created new licenses that clearly support AI.

Even after all the criticism and telling them to shut it down, on July 7th 2025, they said they'll continue regardless.

For someone who used the license for more than a decade, has a .cc domain, and even owns an official hoodie merch, this puts me in a odd situation and mostly upset.

Do I continue using the same license and ignore the dumb actions from CC themselves? Or do I switch to Free Art License even though it does the same thing? Or maybe seek a new license such as Cyberlicense?

The whole point for me for using a copyleft license on my works is to "give" to the community. Not have a sole ownership towards oneself and/or corperate.

Awhile Open-Source continues to become bigger than ever, Free Culture is something I feel needs more attention and I want to continue making more content for it.

For now, the works is currently under CC license. As time passes on, I may or may not switch to a different license.
